If looking for the perfect escape, The Residence Zanzibar should be placed high on your list. Located in Tanzania, the hotel is now the first in the world offering the exclusive Ohashiatsu method at their luxurious spa. The Spa is the lush hotel’s star attraction featuring 6 pavillions and a rest area with a whirlpool hidden amongst 5 acres of tropical gardens. The Spa was designed to blend effortlessly into the natural landscape, providing the perfect escape of the mind, body, and soul.
Ohashiatsu is a holistic treatment created by Wataru Ohashi consisting of five principles. Mr. Ohashi has dedicated his life to oriental healing techniques and founded the Ohashi Institute, an educational non-profit organization, in 1974.
The Five Principles of Ohashiatsu:
1. There is no pressure used by the therapist—they simply act as a broker and allow gravity to do the work.
2. Both hands are used by the therapist in harmony—only one is used to work and the other remains stationary in order to capture the reactions of the host.
3. A continuous flow of movement is to be used by the therapist.
4. The therapist must remain “open” in order to be fully in line with the patient. The session is a meditation between patient and therapist.
5. The therapist must identify the bodily needs of each patient, without imposing the same practice to all guests. Ohashi's philosophy is that idea that every client is a masterpiece that should be protected and pampered.
There are also many benefits of Ohashiatsu including distress of your body and mind, revitalization of your spirit, better understanding of yourself, others and nature, and many others.
If looking for a beautiful, luxurious place to relax and escape reality, the Residence Zanzibar is now more than ever with this remarkable treatment.
