MESTRES Cavas, Sponsor of the Circuit de Catalunya

In a clear show of support for the world of motorsports, Cavas MESTRES has become the new sponsor of the Circuit de Catalunya. Ramon Praderas, the Circuit de Catalunya's General Director, and Joan Aura, manager of Cavas Mestres, have signed a collaboration agreement that will link them for the next five years. By virtue of this agreement, MESTRES wines and cavas will become, from this point forth, the Circuit de Catalunya's official products.

Additionally, MESTRES will also be afforded a Gold Suite, located right in front of the podium and boxes 1 and 2, dab in the middle of the home stretch. In particular, the DO Penedès wine 1312 Cupatge Negre will be given centre stage at the Circuit de Catalunya: a 1312 range red wine, aged for 6 months in oak barrels, which is just now releasing its 2008 vintage. Created from a coupage of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Garnatxa, the 1312 Cupatge Negre is an intense cherry-red wine where violet highlights shine forth. It is elegant on the nose, with aromas of mature dark fruit, delicate floral hints, subtle balsamic (liquorice, aromatic herbs) and smoky notes, legacy of its time in oak barrels. It proves fresh and fruity on the palate, given that the winery has sought to highlight, more than its wood-aged nature, the personality and character of the Penedès terroir.

In line with the concept of the 1312 range by MESTRES, who creates wines to be tasted in informal and relaxed occasions, the 1312 Cupatge negre 2008 is the ideal accompaniment to the events held within the framework of the Circuit de Catalunya.
