Gucci Sustainable Soles for him & her
Gucci is going green for Fall with the release of their Sustainable Soles collection, a special edition of environmentally friendly men's and women's shoes designed by Frida Giannini.
In a move towards sustainable fashion, the collection offers ballerina flats for her and sneakers for him, both molded from bio-plastic, a biodegradable material sourced from compost.
The Marola Green ballerina flats, made entirely of bio-plastic, feature swirly cut out details and the Italian house's signature GG logo motif on the front of the foot, and is available in a variety of versatile, wardrobe-ready hues: blush, taupe, black and black with an interlocking G in white.
Meanwhile, the men’s California Green sneakers, which come in low- and high-top versions, combine the bio-rubber soles with an upper in pebbled vegetable-tanned calfskin, accented with what Gucci calls "biologically certified strings" and rhodium-plated metal detailing. The Gucci logo in green is also emblazoned on a recycled polyester tab.
The Sustainable Soles collection will be available online and at selected Gucci boutiques worldwide from end-June this year.
