The DeluxeAGENCY Campaign for Opera Mini Software Surprises on its Arrival in Barcelona

Technology 16/02/2010

Opera Mini and DeluxeCom Agency caused quite a stir at Barcelona Airport, bringing a smile to everyone's face. A scene that started with three kindly, smiling young ladies awaiting Steve Jobs generated a mass of expectations and caused quite an impact. Yet the most important thing that transpired was, with an OPERA MINI-esque sense of humour, he brightened the day for all Mobile World Congress visitors when he finally reached Barcelona following hours of travel.

The Norwegian company Opera Software has publically announced that it will present a new version of its mobile telephone navigator at the 2010 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This software, Opera Mini 5, aims to become the navigator of choice for both iPhone and Smartphone thanks to its simplicity and speed.

While Apple is yet to comment on the matter, at Opera Software headquarters they are fully convinced their navigator will be approved by Apple and become part of the App Store. Opera Mini 5 isn't seeking to replace Safari, but complement it in some of its more limited functions. The beta version of Opera Mini 5 does not support Adobe Flash Player, just like Safari, but it is superior in both speed and versatility.

Everyone is familiar with the saying, "If you can't beat ‘em, join ‘em". Thus Opera Mini keeps insisting, ironically if you will, on forming part of the massive world of APPLE! Will Steve Jobs succumb to the pure speed of the Opera Mini navigator, or will it be Opera's campaign that ultimately secures its objective?
