Snow Queen Araceli Segarra Awards the Fisherman's Friend Prize for the most Xtreme Xperience at -19ºC in Barcelona

Gourmet 18/02/2010

This past Wednesday, February 16, Fisherman's Friend, industry leader known the world over for their balsamic sweets, lined Barcelona with elegant furs and modern thermal quilts to celebrate what must be the season's most Xtreme Xperience (Xperiencia más Xtrafuerte): the awarding of the Fisherman's Friend prize to the best Xtreme Xperience idea posted on their website.

At a temperature of -19ºC, and with Bogatell Beach as the backdrop, a large crowd composed of accredited media personnel and VIP guests was invited to Barcelona's exclusive and novice IceBar. The pioneering establishment, the only one of its kind in the city, is a large hermetic capsule in which the exclusive and new club can be found; a club whose interior is composed solely of ice: seats, tables, curtains, decorative items and even the glasses in which drinks are served.

Without a doubt a successful and singular initiative where fans of the frigid north and lovers of extreme experiences can cross this magnificent experience off their list whilst surrounded with all manner of commodities, all within the framework of design and innovation.

The award was presented to Eugenia Fernández Baldomero, the winner selected by the Fisherman's Friend jury and chosen from over three-thousand entries who narrated their Xperiences on the Fisherman's Friend website.
