Marlango Closes the Mil·leni Festival

The 11th Mil.leni Festival will come to a close on April 20, with a performance by the group Marlango in the Gran Teatre del Liceu. The concert stamps a full stop at the end of 4 months of continuous concerts here in Barcelona; an event that has brought together artists with different styles, nationalities and sounds.
Russian Red, Fangoria, Michael Nyman, Estrella Morente and Joss Stone are some of the artists that have filled the Palau de la Música over these past months, willing to show once again why this festival is now in its 11th edition.
Two years after their last record, The Electrical Morning, Marlango has returned, with Life in the Treehouse, to regale us once more with quotidian stories, tales about the little things in life, and discuss their feelings and ideas through every one of their songs. The suggestive voice of Leonor Watling, the fragility transmitted in each melody, accompanied by Óscar Ybarra and Alejandro Pelayo, quiet all speak about Marlango being one album wonders. Their 10 years in the world of music vouch for their position as one of Spanish music's finest groups and their quality work.
Now, with their most recent effort, they have called upon their friends to collaborate, friends such as Ben and Leo Sidran, Jorge Drexler, the lead singer's husband, and Rufus Wainwright, among others. This journey to the treehouse suggests an escape from reality, an escape to a place where good times are had and that talks about the hopes and dreams we all have when we're little.
In short, Marlango is a group brimming with tenderness and have been entrusted with closing the 11th edition of the Mil.leni Festival, which shuts its doors once again with record attendance and over 14 sold out shows. We will have to wait until next autumn to enjoy another edition of music and quality.
