American film director Woody Allen will perform in the 11th Festival del Mil.leni on March 28, 2010, in Barcelona's Palau de la Música Catalana, alongside his group The New Orleans Jazz Band. Besides being one of the most respected, influential and prolific film directors of our time, Woody Allen is passionate about jazz music. This has lent him the opportunity to travel through the world and show off his musical prowess alongside the finest musicians. Now, he comes to town with the New Orleans Jazz Band, formed by Woody Allen on clarinet, Eddy Davis on banjo and as musical director, Conal Fowkes on double bass, Robert Garcia on drums, Cynthia Sayer on piano, Simon Wettenhal on trumpet and Jerry Zigmont on trombone. The concert performed by Woody Allen and his band can be considered more classic jazz. Their repertoire includes tunes that have emerged from New Orleans's weighty jazz tradition.
