In a conversation rather than fun Chavi told us of Barcelona, his inspiration and the work being done today.

What are the right visitors to Barcelona?

What proposals are cooking now in your study?

We are making an animated film, a feature film is a love story between two musicians ... It's a project we're doing with Fernando Trueba. Music is, of course, Cuban music and Latin jazz is about ... It is a bolero, a great love story.

We have also made a collection of wallpaper with a company in Barcelona called Inks Three NCBs. Is being distributed worldwide and is working very well. We also a collection of cooking, eating, dishes and cutlery.

We are also working on a very nice collection of lamps and outdoor tables, also things for children, comic books, that's what I want.

Have you thought about a Marshall museum?

No! (laughs). But now we are preparing a very beautiful exhibition at the Design Museum in London, will be in spring of next year. Somehow I empty it and fill it almost all, of thousands of things: small sculptures, carpets, textiles, many T-shirts, many drawings, creating as different corners where people almost have to depart from that great junk (laughs).

What do you think of the mascot of Beijing 2008?

I think it worked very well, reflects the Chinese identity. Asians tend to work much as communities and the concept of individuality is not highly developed, so I think the idea that they were characters that were completely equal and five instead of one that is fine. "Javier, where you find the best flavor of Barcelona? What restaurant would you find? Any recommendations?

And when a person comes to Barcelona for the first time where I could find the taste of the city? How amb tomàquet bread?

It depends on each one. I prefer places where people will eat that works in Barcelona. That's a very good indicator to see the city.

And what about El Bulli, "is the Catalan cuisine?

I wish I could! El Bulli is not a restaurant, a laboratory, which is investigating the kitchen of the future. It is a great place, but is mostly a laboratory of ideas, concepts, research continues.

Something that can be found in Barcelona is people dedicated to artistic research, flavors ...

I think it's something that also exists in other cities, do not believe that Barcelona is a good example.If anything, we will truly be like people in all parts of us engaged in trying to investigate and to seek new ways, but thank God it is quite common in cities such as Milan, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Boston. I think Barcelona has a long, especially entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs with a stake and creating innovations. I think people coming from outside, like me, they find something very nice in Barcelona:a city that is north in a country that is in the south. By having very good weather, the street becomes a public place where many things are mixed, and where people go out and manifested.

Do you find that Barcelona is feminine and masculine maybe Madrid?

Man, if you compare it with Madrid could be yes, but Barcelona can also be very male, depends on how the compare.
